It is such a hard task to find a topic to
write about, something you can type for (at least!) a page or so for people to
read. Some people call this problem ‘writers’ block, where writers and authors
somehow have mental block and unable to write like always do. Well, those are
problems experienced by famous book authors or novel writers, but for us?
Amateur writers who just love to write and type away, playing with words, and
indulged in language, what is it called?
Why
is it so hard to find an interesting topic to write or talk about? We are living
in a colourful and beautiful world, filled with creative minds and wonderful
people. Just a look away from your state of the art gadgets on your hands or
laps and you will see that there is so much to see. So much to enjoy, so much
to give, so much to receive.
I’m talking
nonsense but who cares?
Allah fills our
lives with love, food, shelter, functional body and so much more. So much to be
grateful about. Every time we eat do we even think of other people that are
living in poverty? Who have no food to eat but subsidised dusty bread? Who have
no clothes to wear but dirty worn up sweaters? Be thankful my friends. And foes.
And everyone else. Because when we are thankful, Allah the Almighty, the One
who sustains, will add more of our blessings.
Recently I read
an interesting topic about multicultural education. A concept teachers have to
mind about their students’ diversity. In a class of varied backgrounds (unrelated
to race or skin colour), teachers must diversify methods of teaching to accommodate
the various pupils. Pupils and students are humans (duh!) And as humans, they
have different identities, ways of conversing, different faiths, and most importantly
in a classroom, different ways of understanding an information given to them in
a particular time.
So?
If in a small
classroom, we can be full of variety, diversity, mix and multiplicity (example
of redundancy?), we have to accept the fact that in this gigantic earth, lots
of kinds of people are living in it. People with all kinds of attitudes,
problems, emotions, and lots more, that makes us as humans. And as humans, we
have to UNDERSTAND! That not everyone had the same life as we had, experienced
the same laughter and sadness that we have been through.
"Unity in Diversity"
So every time
someone makes us feel bad, sad, angry or mad, keep calm and have patience. Please.
Do not add more hatred or loathing in this world. There’s too much of it right
now. Instead, spread peace.
“Peace cannot be kept by force; it can
only be achieved by understanding”
And happiness. And
prosperity. And Islam is prosperity. Islam teaches us patience and the act of
kindness to every creature we encounter.
Wallahua’alam. Jazakumullahu khairan kabiran kathiran.
